Progress Quest takes gaming to the next level.  It is a massive role playing game that has all the features of a text MUD with none of the hassles of game play.  All you have to do is download the game and run the program.  Progress Quest handles all the nitpicky things about gaming that have always annoyed you as a player.  Exploration, story progression, combat, item management, equipment upgrades and movement are all automatic.  All you have to do is choose a race and type in a name and the game begins.  Your progress in the game is saved automatically, so after hours of playing you can just shut down the game and then come back to where you left off at any time in the future.

Progress Quest is not completely hack proof, and there are many documented cases of cheating.  The cheating usually involves modifying the save game file so that your character has unlimited experience or uber equipment or has a lot of gold.  While there is no point to cheating at Progress Quest, aside from bragging rights, you may be tempted because of the slow levelling and repetitious game play experience.
