Some Knowledge

Youtube is great for checking out different videos of games.  I spent a lot of the afternoon watching screen captures of people playing various games.  Mostly, I watched some videos of Shaiya Online, which is a free game sort of like World of Warcraft.  It was interesting to see how other people played a mmorpg.

Mostly what I saw was a lot of running around and a lot of theatrics in combat.  That’s pretty much all these games are.  I sometimes play games and go on killing sprees, but after a while that gets dull.  I think I like buying stuff for my character with whatever moneys I get from the game play.  It is always interesting to see what a new weapon looks like or what new armor does.  So, I work by killing things for loot then go shopping.

There is not a lot of game play on TV, aside from clips on X-play on G4TV and a couple other programs.  If people could make high quality videos and edit them so that it was exciting to look at this could make for interesting programming.  As it is I check out games on Youtube before I go to the trouble of downloading or hooking them up just so I can see what I’m getting into.  Also it is nice if you are spending money on a game to see what it looks like before you lay down the cash.

I’m pretty sure I have not been very productive today.  I have an ebook on monetizing or making money from blogs up on my computer, but it is minimized right now.  It is a fairly nice day today, almost 75 degrees, and I was out for a while doing various things.  The way I look at it, this is just a blog and it might be interesting to a few people, but as far as I’m concerned today is just a lazy day and I’m not going to wear myself out trying to think up something popular to write about.

I suppose if I got really bored I could look for funny videos on Youtube and post the links in my blog.  Right now I just want to enjoy myself and be entertained.  I might go ahead and hook up to this game tomorrow and see what it is like.  I sort of miss WoW and would enjoy playing a graphic computer game for a while.  Right now I am just too lazy to even download and install a new game.  I am probably even too lazy to write another word.
