Logical Homes

with 5 comments

The Logical Homes site is still in prelaunch mode.  They have a photo up of a house that appears to be anything but logical.  Apparently this is a prefab housing company that is trying to sell people on the idea of living in an aquarium.  The two houses I saw pictured on different sites show glassed in boxes with flat roofs.  The house on the prelaunch site had a huge overhanging roof with a square hole chopped into it to allow two palm trees to grow up through it.

I’m sorry, but I would not want to live in a fish bowl, even if it is prefab.  A house is where you go to hide from the outside world, not a place to be on display to your neighbors.  Perhaps a better name for this company would be Illogical Homes, or Human Aquarium Solutions.  I can’t imagine anyone actually wanting to spend their lives in such glassed-in enclosures.  It seems they are trying to start some kind of new trend in housing though.  Perhaps it’s the novelty of using your home as a display case for your personal life they are trying to sell.  For me, I like my brick house and keep the curtains drawn.
